Alexa Marquez: Teaneck Creek Conservancy
July 27, 2018 7:30 am - 8:30 am
Teaneck Creek Conservancy is an urban oasis unlike any other. Rescued in 2001 by an eclectic group of artists, environmentalists, and concerned citizens, this 46 acre former dumpsite and highway staging ground has been transformed into a beautiful forested trail retreat! This gem of the Bergen County Park System is a world class birding site, has multiple upcycled art installations and is free to the public every day of the year! This presentation will delve deeper into the great work already done, projects ongoing, and our largest restoration slated for 2018.
Alexa Marques joined Teaneck Creek as the Executive Director in June 2015. She is responsible for volunteer management, recruitment and outreach, physical oversight of the 46 acres, program and event development, the organizations fundraising and finances, and all of the Conservancy's communication and social media.
