Club Meeting

August 9, 2019 7:30 am - 8:30 am

Mino Akhtar is a speaker/writer/facilitator/consultant and conference organizer in North Jersey, who has had a varied career in information technology and organization development in financial, travel, telecommunications and pharmaceutical corporations. She has worked with many civic organizations that focus on conflict resolution and deepening interfaith understanding, analyzing hate and developing strategies for spreading unity.

In Mino's words: The purpose of this talk is to share with you what my faith Islam has come to mean to me. The post-9/11 world made me a reluctant American Muslim spokeswoman, which thankfully increased my spirituality. At the same time, the purveyors of hate and misinformation continue to spread myths which need to be exposed. This talk will focus on the 5-7 biggest myths and bring to light the shades of grey that exist in Islam, or any faith.
